Toilet Renovation Cost Singapore (2026): Price Guide

A toilet is one of the smallest rooms in a Singapore flat, yet it is often the most expensive per square metre to renovate. Waterproofing, hacking, tiling and plumbing all sit behind the new bowl and tiles, and a cheap quote that skips the membrane can cost more later when the downstairs neighbour reports a leak.

This guide puts published 2026 toilet and bathroom renovation prices side by side for HDB and condo toilets, overlay versus full hack, package tiers, and the fixture-only jobs that sit outside a full reno. Every figure links to the page it comes from, checked on 14 October 2026. Prices are indicative and shown as each source publishes them, not averaged. For call-outs and repairs rather than a full redo, see our plumber cost guide. To find a plumber, browse the Plumbers directory.

Toilet renovation cost in Singapore: the short answer

For a single HDB toilet, published package prices for a proper rebuild mostly land around S$4,000–8,000, with lighter overlay refreshes from roughly S$2,500–6,500 and fuller redesigns or condo bathrooms climbing to S$8,000–20,000+. Two toilets done together are cheaper per toilet on contractor packages (for example RCS two-toilet BTO overlay packages from about S$10,290). If you only need a new bowl, published supply-and-install rates start from about S$350–420, and labour-only installation from about S$150.

Published toilet renovation prices (2026)

We checked each page on 14 October 2026. Compare like with like: overlay keeps the old membrane; a full hack strips to the screed and adds new waterproofing. Package prices usually bundle hacking or overlay, waterproofing where applicable, tiling and basic sanitary ware; premium ware, layout changes and glass doors are often extras.

Overlay or full hack?

Overlay lays new tiles on the old ones and leaves the existing waterproofing alone. A full hack strips to the screed, applies a new membrane, runs a ponding test, then retile. MoneyBees puts a single HDB overlay around S$4,500–6,500 and a hack-and-redo around S$5,000–8,000, with overlay finishing in about five to six days versus two to three weeks for hacking. Empire Works warns that overlay adds about 8–12 mm to floor height and can seal in a failing membrane. For new BTO toilets, HDB’s three-year restriction on removing bathroom finishes (as summarised by MoneyBees, MET Interior and RCS) usually makes overlay the compliant option; for older resale flats with hollow tiles or a downstairs leak complaint, hacking is the durable fix.

What drives the cost

  • Overlay versus hack: skipping demolition and new waterproofing is cheaper and faster, but only when the membrane is sound.
  • Property type and size: condo and master bathrooms cost more than a compact HDB common toilet; tiling more wall area multiplies labour.
  • Layout changes: keeping fixtures in place saves plumbing; relocating the WC trap or drains can add about S$1,500–3,000 and may need approval.
  • Ware and finishes: mid-tier bowls and mixers versus rain showers, wall-hung cisterns and large-format tiles swing the materials line the most.
  • Two toilets together: shared mobilisation means packages for two toilets cost less than double a single job.
  • Access and building rules: HDB permits and hours, or condo MCST deposits and lift bookings, affect programme more than the tile price.
  • GST and provisional sums: MoneyBees notes that 9% GST left off a S$5,000 quote quietly adds S$450.

What is usually included, and what is not

A typical package, as described by Goodrich and Singapore Best, bundles hacking or overlay, waterproofing where required, plumbing, wall and floor tiling within an allowance, basic sanitary ware, and often a simple ceiling, light and door. Often charged separately:

  • premium or branded sanitary ware above the package allowance;
  • rain showers, LED mirrors, niches and heated rails;
  • wall-hung WC carrier frames and structural support;
  • relocating traps, drains or concealed pipe runs;
  • debris disposal and site cleaning, if not listed;
  • after-hours work, GST and waterproofing warranty terms.

A basic floor-only job at RK E&C shows how thin a lean scope can be: hack, waterproof, retile the floor and reinstall the bowl, with walls and vanity left for later. If the ceiling is part of the package, false ceiling rates sit in our false ceiling cost guide; for wall painting outside the wet zone, see the painting cost guide.

Commercial and office washrooms

Office, shop and F&B washrooms use the same wet trades, but quotes usually follow a site visit because of landlord fit-out manuals, after-hours work and multi-cubicle sanitary runs. Fixture-only replacements still follow plumber rate cards: GetPlumber publishes toilet bowl supply and install from S$350 and lists commercial plumbing for multi-cubicle systems and reinstatement works. When the washroom is part of a new shop or office fit-out, it is one wet-area line inside the wider office renovation cost rather than a standalone HDB toilet package. Browse Commercial Fit-Out or Renovation & Interior Design for contractors who handle wet areas with the rest of the fit-out.

Some plumbers and renovation firms to ask for a toilet quote

The first two entries are featured partners; the others are not ranked and none paid to appear. Descriptions summarise each company’s own website.

  • GetPlumber.sg (SG Directory listing · website): PUB-licensed plumbing for homes, offices, shops and F&B outlets, including toilet bowl installation and replacement (supply and install from S$350 on its toilet bowl page), cistern and choke work, with a call-out from S$100 on its price list and the quote confirmed before work begins.
  • GetContractor Renovation (SG Directory listing · website): Trends Interior Design Pte Ltd (since 1999) specialises in retail and office renovation and commercial fit-out, including tiling, plumbing and wet areas as part of the fit-out; no standalone toilet package prices are published on the site.
  • KC Plumbing (SG Directory listing · website): PUB-licensed plumbing company offering installation, repairs, water heater work and emergency call-outs for homes and commercial properties.
  • Maginet Plumbing Contractor (SG Directory listing · website): installations and maintenance for commercial and residential premises, F&B grease trap and drain work, and PUB submissions.
  • Enviro Vision (SG Directory listing · website): commercial, industrial and residential plumbing, including CCTV pipe inspection, hydro-jetting and grease trap servicing.

How to get an accurate toilet renovation quote

  1. Send photos of the whole toilet, floor trap, bowl base, vanity and any ceiling stains downstairs.
  2. Say overlay or hack, HDB or condo, and whether the layout stays the same.
  3. Ask for an itemised scope: hacking, waterproofing with ponding test, tile allowance, ware brands, disposal and GST.
  4. For HDB, confirm the contractor will apply for the renovation permit and is HDB-registered when hacking or replacing floor finishes.
  5. Compare two or three written quotes on the same scope, not lump sums.

Red flags

  • A “one-week full hack” that leaves no curing or ponding-test time for the membrane.
  • No waterproofing line, or a quote that tiles over a known downstairs leak.
  • Hacking a new BTO toilet inside HDB’s three-year finish restriction.
  • Lump-sum packages with no tile allowance, ware brands or GST stated.
  • No licensed plumber when new pipe runs or trap relocation are involved; see also our water heater installation cost guide if a heater moves with the shower.

Toilet renovation cost: FAQ

How much does toilet renovation cost in Singapore?

Published 2026 bands for one HDB toilet are roughly S$4,000–8,000 for a standard rebuild, about S$2,500–6,500 for overlay, and S$8,000–12,000+ for a fuller redesign. Condo bathrooms commonly run S$8,000–20,000, with premium work higher.

How much is an HDB toilet renovation package?

Single-toilet packages commonly advertise about S$5,000–8,000 for a basic rebuild. Two-toilet packages from RCS start from about S$10,290 for BTO overlay and from about S$12,290 for resale hacking.

Is overlay cheaper than hacking?

Yes on every source above. Overlay skips demolition and new waterproofing, so it is faster and cheaper, but it only suits sound membranes and (for new BTOs) the HDB finish restriction window.

How long does a toilet renovation take?

Singapore Best and Goodrich put a straightforward toilet at about 7–14 working days. MoneyBees gives about 5–6 days for overlay and 2–3 weeks for a full hack; MET Interior gives 2–3 weeks for a single bathroom rebuild, with waterproofing curing as the step that cannot be rushed.

How much does a toilet bowl replacement cost on its own?

GetPlumber lists supply and install from S$350; FixMove from S$150 labour-only or from S$380 with a standard bowl; Mr Plumber from S$420. Wall-hung and smart toilets cost more.
