Aircon Installation Cost in Singapore (2026)

Installing aircon is one of the bigger one-off costs when you fit out a new office, shop, clinic or home. In Singapore the price depends on how many indoor units share one outdoor condenser (System 1 to System 5 for wall-mounted units), whether you buy the units from the installer, how long the copper piping runs, and, for commercial premises, whether you need ceiling cassettes or ducted units hidden above a false ceiling.

This guide sets out what Singapore aircon companies publish for installation in 2026, from install-only labour to supply-and-install packages and ceiling cassette units for offices and shops. Every figure links to the page it comes from. Prices are indicative and shown as each company publishes them. To find an installer, browse the Aircon Servicing directory.

Why the published figures differ so much

S$1,600 and S$5,450 can both be correct for a System 4. The first is install-only labour where you supply the units; the second includes the indoor and outdoor units. Brand, BTU size and inverter rating move the package price more than labour does. Always ask whether a quote is install-only or supply-and-install, which models are named, and how many metres of piping are included.

Aircon installation for offices, shops and F&B

Commercial premises rarely use wall-mounted System 1–5 units throughout. Open-plan offices, shops and restaurants often use ceiling cassettes, ducted or ceiling-concealed units, or VRV/VRF systems that run many indoor units from one outdoor plant. Commercestar lists separate options for replacement that reuses existing piping, a full install with new piping, and a concealed install that covers false ceiling or hacking work, and excludes work above 4 m and new electrical supply. SRJ limits piping for commercial properties to 15 metres and quotes work above 3 metres (scaffolding or scissor lift) separately. Larger VRV/VRF jobs are normally priced only after a site survey and cooling load calculation.

  • Ceiling works: cassettes and ducted units need openings in the false ceiling; see our false ceiling cost guide.
  • Power supply: new isolators or circuits are electrical work, covered in our electrician cost guide.
  • Building rules: landlord approval, after-hours work and condenser locations set by management add time and cost.
  • Fit-out budget: aircon is usually one line in a full office fit-out; see our office renovation cost guide.

What drives aircon installation cost

  • System size: the number of indoor units on one condenser is the main factor.
  • Units supplied or not: install-only labour is a fraction of a supply-and-install package.
  • Brand, BTU and efficiency: premium brands, larger capacities and higher energy ratings cost more.
  • Unit type: ceiling cassettes, ducted and VRV/VRF systems cost more to install than wall units.
  • Piping length and route: runs beyond the included length are charged per metre; concealed routes add more.
  • Access and height: work above 3–4 m, scaffolding and difficult condenser positions.
  • Electrical and removal work: new isolators, circuits, brackets and disposal of old units.

What is usually included, and what is not

Cool Channels lists a standard installation as mounting the indoor and outdoor units, copper piping of about 3–5 metres per indoor unit, PVC drainage to the nearest floor trap, electrical connection from the isolator, and a pressure test, vacuum and initial refrigerant charge. Check whether these are included:

  • piping beyond the standard length, and how many metres are included;
  • concealed trunking, false ceiling openings or hacking;
  • a new isolator, power point or dedicated circuit;
  • stainless steel or custom condenser brackets;
  • work at height, scaffolding or scissor lifts;
  • removal and disposal of existing units;
  • workmanship and manufacturer warranty terms;
  • GST, which may not be in the published price.

After installation, plan for regular servicing; prices are in our aircon servicing cost guide.

How to get an accurate quote

  1. Send a floor plan with room sizes and photos of where the indoor units and condenser will go.
  2. State whether you want install-only or supply-and-install, and name preferred brands.
  3. For offices and shops, share ceiling height, false ceiling details and building management rules.
  4. Ask for an itemised quote with model numbers, BTU, included piping length and per-metre rates.
  5. Compare two or three quotes for the same scope.

Red flags

  • No model numbers or BTU stated, only a package name.
  • Included piping length not written down, leaving room for extra charges on the day.
  • No site survey for cassette, ducted or VRV/VRF work.
  • Electrical work done without a licensed electrician where new circuits are needed.
  • A large deposit with no written warranty terms.
